Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research is a 1600 bedded tertiary centre established in 1985. Department of Nephrology is established in 1995. It is one of the country's leading dialysis and transplant centres, with over 40 dialysis machines. Its is one of the very few centres equipped with continuous renal replacement therapy machines. One of the oldest departments to start peritoneal dialysis facility.

Its is a centre of excellence for renal transplants. As of April 2022, more than 800 renal transplants have been done including one of the State's first kidney paired donation.

In my period of fellowship, I have been trained 24 months of in-patient care in nephrology wards including intensive care units and management of out- patient's department, Hemodialysis and Peritoneal dialysis units and 8 additional months of training in renal transplant unit, also specialized in pediatric and deceased donor transplantation. In addition, trained in renal ultrasound and histopathology.

• Tunneled venous catheter insertions - 5 individual cases
• Renal biopsy (native and graft kidney) - 51 cases individually.
• Percutaneous PD catheter insertion - 6 cases individually

Teaching is my passion. One can find me engaged in endless discussions on acid base balance and electrolyte disturbances. Glomerular disorders, especially nephropathology is my area of expertise.
